July 1, 2010 - People 4 Earth, Future Generations China and WWF co-sponsor, "Moving to a Better World", the promotion of a new and comprehensive Global Standard of Sustainability at the Shanghai World Expo, WWF pavilion. Student volunteers will work alongside experts to illustrate the four pillars (Pure, Fair, Life, Renew) of the sustainable development criteria for this new product standard. Visitors are invited to attend an interactive Q&A session to discuss the importance of comprehensive environmental management. All in attendance will receive postcards with a simple message from People 4 Earth that may be used to help spread awareness of this vital effort.
Come enjoy the informative and engaging multimedia experience! Visitors seeking further involvement will have many opportunities to leave feedback and provide input. The exhibition will be host to a series of lectures throughout the month detailing sustainable development initiatives and the different ways governments, corporations and individuals can get involved.
Some specific issues that will be addressed include, "Choosing Safe and Healthy Products for Consumers", "Evaluating Product Fairness", "Evaluating Production Chains from an Environmental Perspective", "Negative Effects of Damaged Biodiversity ", "Decreasing Energy Input and Greenhouse Gas Emissions in the Product Chain" and "Transitions to Renewable Energy Sources". People 4 Earth in partnership with Future Generations China and the WWF are here to promote understanding of a Global Standard of Sustainability for products and services that will raise awareness and inspire action from consumers, highlight the need for companies to maintain safe and healthy production standards, and underscore the importance of protecting the environment and upholding social justice throughout the entire product chain.
