STUDENTS RETURN HOME AFTER SUCCESSFUL TRAINING CONFERENCE AND OPENING CEREMONYApril 5, 2009

Student leaders spent the last day of the Green Long March National Training Conference attending lectures by leaders of the Youth League and Beijing Forestry University. Lectures were followed by a question and answer period and the day's activities were concluded with encouraging words from Frances Fremont-Smith and Yu Jishun, leader of the Beijing Forestry Communist Youth League.

Students then attended the farewell dinner where they celebrated the last week's activities and toasted their new friends. All are looking forward to beginning work on their projects in the coming months and to seeing each other again in the fall at the National Student Forum where they will share results from their case studies, GLM campaigns, and progress on their Green Seed Awards.

Though the Training Conference and the Opening Ceremony have come to a close, the action has just begun. Follow the Green Long March and its inspiring student leaders throughout the summer as they take action to reduce energy use and promote cleaner renewable energy across China.
